Is it possible to record shows on your computer for watching again (or later) through your player?
Also, is it possible to see a channel listing before purchasing?

Dear Joe, To record shows, simply click on the "Tools" option, near the top of iTVmediaPlayer. There, you will find the "DVR" option. This option, however, is provided by a third-party. A free trial is available. In regards to the channel list, please visit our website's homepage for more info: iTVmediaPlayer.com

With out using the third party option is there any other way to record using this service? Building a home HD PVR is not that hard and can be done for $500 but is this option even possible or is buying the third party DVR service the only option? The DVR availability is the only thing holding me back from getting this. Also is the third party DVR service a one time only fee w/ no re occurring fees?
Also what are the capability of the third party service, how many shows can you record at one time and any other info would be appreciated.

Dear Travism,
You will definitely be able to record from any HTPC; as long as the DVR software is present and working. You can use any DVR software with iTVmediaPlayer. We recommend a particular one from our Tools section (one-time purchase). But it is really up to you on what DVR software to use.
